A clenil modulite inhaler is used to prevent the symptoms of asthma by reducing inflammation within the airways, therefore easing breathing issues. It contains a pressurised inhalation solution of beclometasone dipropionate, a corticosteroid, which has anti-inflammatory effects.
Belcometasone dipropionate, glycerol, ethanol and the CFC-free propellant HFA-134a. Each canister contains 200 puffs.
Time to take effect
The drug can take a few days to take effect, but it is important to take the inhaler regularly.
How to take
This inhaler is to be used in asthmatics, as directed by the doctor, usually once to twice daily, and is not to be used to treat sudden breathlessness. The daily dose is usually divided into doses throughout the day, and the dose will depend upon asthma severity.
Allergic reactions, weight loss, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting and thrush of the mouth have been reported, as well as a horse or sore throat. Issues with the mouth and throat can be reduced by rinsing the mount out after inhaler use.
