Femodene tablets contain ethinylestradiol and gestodene which both aid in preventing pregnancy. It works by preventing the release of an egg from the ovaries, thickening the cervix so sperm can not enter the womb and thinning the womb lining to inhibit implantation.
Ethinylestradiol, gestodene, lactose, maize starch, povidone, magnesium stearate (E572), sodium calcium edetate, sucrose, macrogol 6000, calcium carbonate (E170), talc, montan glycol wax.
How to take
One tablet should be taken at the same time every day for 21 days, followed by 7 days where no tablet is taken.
Rarely blood clots and breast cancer can occur; if any signs of these develop, medical attention should be seen immediately. Other effects may include headaches, nausea and mood swings.
