Loestrin tablets contain norethisterone acetate and ethinylestradiol. They prevent ovulation, thicken the mucus on entry to the womb to prevent sperm entering and stop embedding of fertilised eggs by thinning the womb lining.
Norethisterone acetate, ethinylestradiol, sucrose, lactose, maize starch, talc, spray-dried acacia and magnesium stearate.
Tablet coating: hypromellose 15, hydroxypropylcellulose, carnauba wax, quinoline yellow, erythrosine FD&C Red, indigo carmine and titanium dioxide.
How to take
One tablet should be taken, at the same time each day, for 21 days, then a 7 day break should be taken before starting the next blister strip of tablets.
See a Dr immediately if signs of a blood clot appear. Some possible side effects of Loestrin 20 include thrush, jaundice and headaches.
