Norethisterone is the progestogen in Micronor which alters the womb lining to prevent an egg implanting there, and makes the mucus of the cervix thicker to stop sperm entering the womb.
Norethisterone, lactose, magnesium stearate and pregelatinised starch.
How to take
One pill should be taken every day, at around the same time, for 28 days, and then a new blister strip should be started the next day.
Blood clots are of a higher risk when taking Micronor, therefore if any signs appear patients must contact their GP immediately. Bleeding between periods can occur or no periods at all, as well as dizziness and tender breasts.
