Ovranette is a combined contraceptive pill made up of levonorgestrel and ethinylestradiol. It prevents the release of an egg from the ovaries and makes the cervical mucus thicker so it is more difficult for sperm to enter the womb.
Levonorgestrel, ethinylestradiol, lactose monohydrate, maize starch, povidone 25, magnesium stearate, talc, purified water, sucrose, polyethylene glycol 6000, calcium carbonate, white wax and wax carnauba.
How to take
One tablet should be taken daily, preferably at the same time, for 21 days and then a 7 day pill-free period should be fulfilled before starting the next blister strip of tablets.
Patients should be aware of the signs of a blood clot, as there is an increased risk when using this medicine. Possible side effects include breakthrough bleeding, headaches or changes in sex drive.
