Ventolin Evohaler is used to treat an asthma attack, including sudden breathlessness, wheezing and a cough. The inhaler contains salbutamol, pressurised in the container, which on inhalation quickly relieves symptoms.
Salbutamol sulfate and HFA 134a.
Time to take effect
Ventolin acts rapidly once inhaled to aid breathing.
How to take
One to two puffs should be taken as needed, with a maximum of eight inhalations in 24 hours.
If swelling of the face, a rash, severe breathlessness or palpitations occur, patients should speak to their GP immediately. Other effects that may occur include shaking, headaches and muscle cramps.
