Product description
Yasmin is made up of the hormones, ethinylestradiol and drospirenone. It is used as a combined contraceptive pill to prevent pregnancy.
Ingredients
Ethinylestradiol, drospirenone, lactose monohydrate, maize starch, pregelatinised maize starch, povidone K25, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, macrogol 6000, talc, titanium dioxide and iron oxide yellow.
How to take
A blister strip contains 21 tablets; one tablet should be taken at the same time each day, followed by a 7 day tablet-free period before starting the next strip.
Side effects
Some of the possible side effects reported include breast tenderness, depressive mood and headaches. Patients taking combined oral contraceptives are also at an increased risk of blood clots and cancers and should be aware of the signs for these.
